Details in the LEGO Zelda Deku Tree set
Hest
Shalaka lala! Yes, everyone’s favorite inventory-expanding Korok, Hestu, is on the BOTW side of the set. It looks exactly as you’d expect, but we’re glad to see that his stamps worked.
Corox
It wouldn’t be a BOTW-inspired build without some Koroks, and we spotted three of them in various Lego forms. They seem to range in size from small to… not so small and each has a unique leaf mask to match. We’re sure there will be a few more — and that people will have fun creating their own Tears of the Korok torture devices out of Lego.
‘The Riddles of Hyrule’
Speaking of Koroks, remember the ‘Riddles of Hyrule’ side quest in BOTW? The one that required you to repeatedly get items for Walton, the curious Korok at the top of the Deku tree? Look carefully at the top of this kit and you’ll spot it there. He even has an answer to his own “Small, red, round, sweet” puzzle with it (spoiler: it’s an apple).
A great master sword
We weren’t surprised to see the Master Sword pop up here, but we were impressed to see that the blade was almost translucent blue, similar to its shiny appearance at various points in Breath of the Wild. Shining power is usually a sign that you’re close to a dungeon or guardian, neither of which appear in Lego… yet… Looking forward to building the Water Temple out of Lego.
A sword in the stone
Another fun detail about the Master Sword is that it appears to come with its Korok Forest stand in the BOTW version — you can see it at around the 11-second mark. Let’s just hope you don’t need 13 hearts to take him out.
A tiny, tiny Ocarina
Ocarina of Time minifigures follow a tiny, tiny ocarina cube. It may not be the most surprising addition, but it is very cute.
Skull
The Lego Skulltula hides behind an OOT Deku tree, guarding a hidden chest. The treasure chest is home to the adorable Lego Fairy Slingshot, but we’ll have to wait for the arachnid beast to spin before we rush towards it.
Sheikah Slate
Princess Zelda minifigure holds her very own Sheikah Slate. A cute addition, yes, but it looks even neater attached to the Deku Tree ‘terminal’.
Triforce Tunic
While we’re talking about the Princess Zelda Minifig, check out the details on her tunic! Taking a cue from her BOTW design, there’s neat gold and white lines going on here, and we’re particularly impressed with the tiny Triforce in the middle.
Deku Sprout
The OOT set comes with not one, but two Tree blanket. Let’s say. In addition to the titular tree, this build also includes a cute little Deku Sprout. Does that mean the big guy in the background is already dead? We’ll try not to think too much about it…
Gossip stone
Among the leaves of the OOT set is the Gossip Stone. It appears that there is a single face plate brick for the front, and you will build the body of the stone with individual bricks for the back.
A cooking vessel
We wouldn’t believe it was BOTW Link if he wasn’t cooking some mushrooms. Well, he is! The BOTW build appears to have a convenient cooking station right under the Great Deku Tree.
Navi
We finally have fairies! We’ve often wondered what a Lego Zelda mansion would look like. Well, here’s the answer. It looks like Navi (or some other random Kokiri fairy) will form part of the OOT set, represented by a blue wedge on a printed transparent circular piece. It may not be the most elegant solution, but it sure looks good. There is also a normal fairy ready to bottle in the ‘Riddles of Hyrule’ section. Very nice.
That’s all we spotted, but do we have anything else? Let us know your favorite feature in the comments.
